The Curtis Collection - Edward S Curtis

Curtis Collection Information

The Curtis Collection represents the world's largest, most extensive collections of Copper Photogravure Plates ever produced or assembled. These Copper Photogravure Plates represent the life work of Edward Sheriff Curtis and his massive documentation of Native Americans, The North America Indian. The plates are both historic documentation of Native Americans and priceless artifacts.

The Curtis Collection has entered into an agreement with The Bruce Kapson Gallery to provide the vintage works of Edward S. Curtis and other historic American Indian art. Whenever you see this image Bruce Kapson elsewhere on our site you can click on it to visit The Bruce Kapson Gallery.

Margaret Coel is the author of Wife of Moon, a book in which Edward S. Curtis is an actual character. Those of you interested in his photographic techniques will find the book interesting. The story, for mystery buffs, interweaves Curtis' photography and the present on the Wind River Reservation, in which Curtis' photographic plates are used to solve a mystery. For further information on the author and her Wind River reservation series, see: The author or her Amazon page.
